Dear BCT Customers,
Due to ongoing volatility in global energy markets and the resulting significant increase in fuel costs, and with reference to the provisions of the BCT Standard Tariff, we would like to inform you that, effective 9 November 2026, BCT Terminal will adjust the Energy Emergency Surcharge (EES).
The EES has been introduced to partially offset the increase in operating costs directly attributable to exceptional fluctuations in fuel prices. This decision has been made following a review of current commercial conditions governing terminal operations, which indicates the necessity of maintaining both economic sustainability and competitiveness while ensuring the continued delivery of the highest standards of terminal services.
The revised EES is USD 3.85 per container.
The surcharge has been calculated based on a comparison between the average wholesale fuel prices published by ORLEN in 2024 and current market price levels. Detailed source data are available at the following link: https://www.orlen.pl/pl/dla-biznesu/hurtowe-ceny-paliw#paliwa-archive
The EES will be applied to every container loaded onto or discharged from a vessel, irrespective of its status (full, empty, or transit).
Please also note that BCT reserves the right to revise the EES rate in the future. Any adjustments to the surcharge, as well as decisions regarding its continuation in subsequent months, will depend on developments in the energy markets and fuel cost trends. BCT will continue to monitor these factors closely and will keep customers informed of any changes in a timely manner.
We appreciate your understanding and continued trust in BCT. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours faithfully,
BCT Team
